HCAL Kitten Teaches Preschoolers about Animal Rescue
The Jersey Journal did a story on HCAL's recent visit to the Park Prep Academy preschool in Jersey City Heights. The children presented homemade pet treats to Harry, one of our rescues, and Kathleen, one of our board members. Harry was a big hit and taught the kids about animal rescue. After his moment in the spotlight, Harry went to live in a new home of his own.
Animal Disaster Planning
2011 began with blizzards and went on to throw Hurricane Irene and the Halloween Blizzard at us, leaving many people wondering what to do for their pets in an emergency. The Hudson County Animal Response Team (CART), part of the Office of Emergency Management, is responsible for designing a plan to ensure that in the event of a disaster, an organized, professional team of individuals will respond and properly care for affected animals...(Full Story)
